Which school should I attend?
Hi there!
I am currently stuck between Iowa Law or Nebraska Law. I have received full tuition scholarships to both, with Nebraska throwing another four thousand on top of the tuition scholarship. I am originally from Nebraska and attended my undergrad there as well. What are the thoughts out there? So far most people seem to push me towards Iowa due to it simply being higher ranked. Should I follow their advice or stay basically at home?

In your situation, this is a tie. To which other law schools did you apply with a 163/3.95 ? This should earn you lots of Tier One acceptances as well as scholarship offers.

Both are solid, but what are the stips?

In terms of working, I would like to go into a larger Midwestern city, such as Kansas City, Minneapolis, Chicago, etc. For Iowa, I would have to maintain top 37% and Nebraska top 50%.

The problem is that neither of these schools are going to give you a great shot at cities outside their state (you'd be fighting with T14 kids gunning for those places, especially NU/UChi, and state schools that have more pull because the school is in that state). Figure out whether you'd rather be in NE or IA and that should be the school you choose.zicker1352 wrote:In terms of working, I would like to go into a larger Midwestern city, such as Kansas City, Minneapolis, Chicago, etc. For Iowa, I would have to maintain top 37% and Nebraska top 50%.
However I think both are risky. You have a roughly 50% chance of losing your NE scholarship whereas you have a 63% chance of losing your IA scholarship. I think the IA stip sucks, but you should still pick your preference. If you're ambivalent between NE and IA I'd say go NE since that is where you are from and it has a looser stip.

Apparently 75% of Iowa scholarship recipients retain their scholarships after their first year. While this is no guarantee, it is a helpful frame of reference for evaluating their scholarships. It looks like I myself will be attending Iowa on a full scholarship, but the Fellowship variety with no stipulations.
