Delaying summer start date?

Hi all,

Quick question for 2Ls working DC Big Law: what, if any, flexibility exists as to the start date? My brother is getting married next summer in California. Right now his preferred date is May 25, but he's graciously checked to make sure it will not be too huge an inconvenience for me. Between flying out there, the rehearsal dinner, etc., it would really be ideal if I could simply start working after that weekend, but I know many firms' start dates are that prior week.

Quick info: Currently a 1L at an MVBP, top 5% of my class after 1st semester, hoping to go to DC for Big Law next summer. Thanks for your help.
