Pepperdine $$$ vs UCLA $ vs Georgetown

Post by SoCalLawyer » Thu Mar 01, 2012 9:46 pm

Pepperdine in Malibu is offering me full tuition plus a $5,000 stipend (contingent on being top 1/3). UCLA is giving me $30K a year (contingent on 2.5+ GPA). Georgetown has sent no word about financial aid yet. (Have not heard back from USC).

I am almost positive I will be looking to work in the So Cal market.

Any advice?

UCLA definitely. If USC matches your UCLA offer then pick the one you prefer. If USC significantly beats your UCLA offer then take USC.

If you want to work in the area, then UCLA for sure. Unless USC gives you full tuition, it will likely come out as more expensive tuition-wise than UCLA (I'm assuming in-state?). Honestly, I don't know much about Pepperdine, except that they have a weird reputation, and their law school isn't highly ranked. Georgetown's a good school, but being on the east coast does you no favors if you're sure about working in socal.
