Depends on where you want to live long term and how risk-averse You are. With that being said, 200k of debt with a 30% chance of BigLaw vs 100k of debt or whatever living expenses at UConn with very low chance of BigLaw...I'd roll the dice but that's just me.dreamflower wrote:Consider this:
Full tuition at UConn
BU or BC with no or very little money
Fordham with no or very little money
Desire to work in biglaw (doesn't everyone?) or basically make as much money as possible after graduation.
Would you ever consider attending BU/BC/Fordham at sticker over full tuition at UConn? Or is that crazy?

I'd take BC/BU/Fordham (well, I did). There are many ways to manage your debt but you only get one shot at biglaw, may as well max the odds.

I'm in exactly the same boat, with the additional choice of $30k at Wake Forest. Crossing my fingers for aid to BC (or perhaps Fordham...)

Negotiate with BC/BU to get more money, for a realistic shot at biglaw you've got to go with either of those over UConn.
All of this is assuming you want Boston or NY biglaw.

That's my plan...plus possibly retaking the LSAT in Feb. (heard it helps w/negotiating $$) if I find myself confident I can improve my score significantly.Moxie wrote:Negotiate with BC/BU to get more money, for a realistic shot at biglaw you've got to go with either of those over UConn.

I hope BC doesn't take as long as it did last year to fill us in about merit scholarships, so negotiations can begin early.

It probably depends if you are a special snowflake.

I have such low odds of getting into Yale I am considering just making my Yale 250 comedy in an attempt to catch someone's eye.hurricane12345 wrote:I was going to mention that in my negotiation letter.Tom Joad wrote:It probably depends if you are a special snowflake.
