You obviously have good numbers if you got a 50K scholarship to UCLA. Did you apply to Penn? Fordham? Cornell? Any of those schools would be in your range, and would give you a far better chance at NYC. Michigan can certainly get you there, but the CA schools I'm not so sure about.

If you're dead set on NYC biglaw and those are your only options (which seems kind of strange) then Michigan seems like the way to go here. Like the other poster mentioned, no Cornell? It seems like Cornell would be perfect given what I assume your numbers to be and based on your career goals.

Blanket the T14 and make a thread when you actually have acceptances.

Last I checked, UMich wasn't in California.
But if you want to go to school in CA, Berkeley will be able to get you to NYC as long as you get a good mix of Hs and Ps. An HH or two and you'd be pretty well set. I had friends scattered throughout the firms in NYC. Don't get as many NY firms as others to interview, but those that do come do hire.
Note: I'm not arguing that it's the BEST school for NYC--the previous posts here have other good options too. But, if you want to go to NYC from California, Berkeley is your best shot (if SLS isn't in the picture).

And then punch yourself in the gut for posting as if you have a scholarship offer before you've even applied.chimp wrote:Blanket the T14 and make a thread when you actually have acceptances.

Do UCs even give 50% scholarships? Most of the people I know on scholarships are either on pretty much full rides, $10K/yr, or some trivial amount.
