gonna need tobe more specific WRT URM status and gpa/LSAT, but you may be able to ask about the difficulty of attending law school while in the military here

I am Hispanic and a female. Also first generation post grad. GPA is 3.0. LSAT 140. Retaking the LSAT in 2 weeks, and have been scoring 156-158 on PTs.

good luck. Do you think you could get that a little higher if you put it off until February?

I should have mentioned I am also attending a grad school class this semester, which I expect at least a 3.5-3.0 in the class. Now if I put off until February I am worried that I am going to be in the late applicants pool. Overly worried about that.

I was thinking more along the lines of if you considered waiting a cycle. Also, grad school doesn't count toward your LSAC gpa if you were wondering about that

MIlitary is a good soft but it'll only help marginally compared to GPA/LSAT. Kill the retake...maybe even wait out a cycle and then kill it...your current score won't cut it anywhere you should be going.

Unless you're Puerto Rican or Mexican, don't expect a boost round that way. Also your scores can't get you into any schools worth going to, so retake or don't go.

FYI, no one cares about the first-gen higher ed stuff (I was first gen college-of-any-sort, saw no appreciable boost).

Unless you kick your LSAT up into the 160s, you're not going to get into any schools worth attending (unless you have access to GI money, etc.). Are you thinking about JAG, or is that not in the cards?

You should think really carefully about whether going makes sense. The 3.0 is going to be quite limiting for your options, you're already older and have significant responsibilities, etc.

OP mentioned PT as an option...

Raise the LSAT even more. Hit 160+ in February. Wait out a cycle.

If you take everyone's advice and come back with the solid Feb LSAT score, more details on URM status, and any regional limitations, then TLS will be more useful in choosing schools to apply to.

Actually, I would. Who are you to accuse me of sexism, without knowing me? No single parent of 3 kids could possibly succeed in law school without doing a huge disservice to those children. Now, if they have a family member who is willing to watch the kids for a significant amount of time, it might work out.

Only way that this makes sense for OP is if military provides a full ride and they want to do JAG (which is more concerned with prior military service than school and class rank). Otherwise, I foresee lots of debt and little employment in OPs future.
