Should I ED

Post by Yellowtree » Sun Oct 23, 2011 12:37 pm

Thinking about ED (binding) to Ohio State/UIUC/IU-B
162/3 non-urm
would this be a smart decision and do I have a chance

It would be worth doing for UIUC and IU-B if you're willing to pay sticker. You never know where the UIUC ranking is going to go or how they will adjust admissions this year because of it, but it would definitely give you a great admissions bump... I would guess that fewer apply ED to these schools than similarly ranked schools (ND, BC, Boston, etc.)---so it will stand out more

good luck!

Probably not gonna work, and if you do get in, unless you have in-state, it will be stupid expensive.

TITCR. OP, if you have other options besides law school, explore them.

Decide which state you want to work in. Aside from maybe ND, none of these schools are really better.

I'm a 1L at Ohio State. Most people get in-state at OSU for 2nd and 3rd years, so consider that when thinking about Ohio State. Also, I have it on good authority that ED at OSU gives you a significant admissions boost with no adverse affect on your ability to qualify for scholarships. Of course, your numbers themselves may bar you from a scholarship...but Ohio State does have scholarships other than academic merit.

Just thought I'd add in my $.02 :)
