With the BLEAK outlook of the legal market...
Why are you still applying to go to law school? There is SO much negativity with regard to legal job prospects, and not just on TLS.
I am not trying to be snarky here and this is not a flame, as I myself am applying to law school. But applying and actually matriculating somewhere are two different scenarios, and I am very unsure about the latter.
Thoughts?

Scholarships are covering my tuition in full to a T14. I think that's the only one should go to law school these days; and even so, I am very uncertain about my decision.

Wow, that is very impressive - congrats. Scary though that someone even in your position is uncertain.scammedhard wrote:Scholarships are covering my tuition in full to a T14. I think that's the only one should go to law school these days;

Thoughts?
b) because I suck horribly at organic so engineering/med/DO/dental/podiatry/chiropractic/vet/pharmD school is out
c) because I have come to understand that though I have wanted to be other things I have always come back to wanting to be a litigator.
d) because I would rather struggle being broke as hell as an attorney than being rich at anything else.
e) because I have made lots and lots of money doing something that ate my soul everyday and now understand that you will never truly be rich unless you do what makes you happy.

I think most TLSers are, overall, making an OK decision; most of us are going to Tier 1 schools with at least some money. The problem is those 30000 or so that go to TTs/TTTs/TTTTs year after year at sticker.

Because I've wanted to be an attorney my whole life, and three years as a biglaw paralegal has confirmed it;blair22 wrote:Why are you still applying to go to law school? There is SO much negativity with regard to legal job prospects, and not just on TLS.
Because my personal situation, thank god, is that I can pay for LS without taking on major debt;
Because the current bad hiring environment won't last forever;
Because I have faith in myself; and
Because Harvard people will tell you non-HYS isn't worth it, GULC people will tell you non-T14 isn't worth it, BU people will tell you non-T25 isn't worth it, Tulane people will tell you non-Tier 1 isn't worth it, St. John's people will tell you TTT isn't worth it. You can't worry about other people's posturing. Do what's right for you.
