Do you read tea-leaves as well? How could you possibly know this?rlt2107 wrote: I'm confident in my ability to be in the top 20%-30% of the class range..
Fordham is crazy expensive. They list COA as 73k a year (-10k in your case).
I won't do either at those costs. Maybe if you are someone interested in government/public service and are confident that the democrats stay in office (in order to IBR).

It's terrific that you plan to go to law school with an already low opinion of your classmates.
OP, I said the same thing, and I'm probably now in the bottom 20% of my class after 1L. It happens to the best of us.

Monarchy why do you enjoy being such a jerk? there is some good input on these forums, but seriously, i'd love to see you in a social setting if all you do is go around berating everyone who is not HYS material. Even if you are HYS, and I doubt it, you won't get very far in life with that attitude. Don't be that dude.monarchylover wrote:if you had to choose one of these horrible options vandy has 4% better NLJ placement but that is probably hick jobs

How much do the tangibles and intangibles of being in NYC matter to you? Because the cost differential is large. Don't make your self unhappy by going somewhere that you think you will be miserable in. However, to the extent that you expect to be in the library anyways, I think Vandy is the choice here. Do well, sleep in the library and transfer to NYU/Columbia if you want.

Wait a second, some people think Fordham is the right choice here? Vandy at 150K debt seems a lot, but it's by far a better option than Fordham.

Re: HELP - Fordham ($) vs. Vandy ($$) for Northeast Jobs
Agreed. For any big or medium sized firm anywhere, Vandy is the better bet historically. Good grades can get you DC, and ATL is not very insular either. Top third at Fordham will probably give you a good shot at NYC biglaw, but so will Vandy. Plus Vanderbilt is cheaper.ndirish2010 wrote:Wait a second, some people think Fordham is the right choice here? Vandy at 150K debt seems a lot, but it's by far a better option than Fordham.
