1. How much debt will you take out to attend each of these schools?
2. Where do you want to work?

1. Pretty comparable debt from both, maybe a bit less from Notre Dame
2. Not sure. I've been thinking about living abroad for a while, but I've also been thinking a lot about work-family balance. I'd like Biglaw but I'd settle for something smaller to gain some balance. My long term goal is to become a judge.

If you want to work abroad it makes little sense to go to an American law school. You need to decide whether you'd prefer to work in DC or in the midwest and choose the according school.

All else equal, Notre Dame because DC sucks bad right now (assuming you can stand living ni the midwest for a while). Plus COL is a lot lower. Full disclosure- NDLS rising 2L.

BK - I'd go to an American law school and try to get a job with an multi-national firm. I'd rather not do undergrad over again (which I'd have to if I went to a law school in England, for example).

ND - Can I PM you about the school?

My point is that the chances of you getting this type of job is very low so you need to make a decision based on what will happen a majority of the time, which at GW means ending up in DC and at ND means ending up in the midwest.

ND doesn't automatically equal working in the Midwest. There have been many years when more graduates ended up outside the Midwest than in!
