Transfer to Columbia/NYU
Easier from USC (18) or Fordham (30)? I've heard that Columbia and NYU like to accept students from competitor schools in NYC but others say USC's higher ranking would be an advantage. Just looking for info/opinions, I'm not taking a year off to retake/reapply and will not be attending either school just because it will make transferring more possible.

For someone who "is not planning on transferring" you sure are making a lot of threads about something that has a 90%+ chance of not happening.

You really don't get it, do you. This question is irrelevant to you. It is entirely off your radar and is of no significance to you. If you have no eye to transfer, then this is an irrelevant criteria. And if you are going with an eye to transfer, then you are making a huge mistake.

Well we can assume that he actually wants to transfer. If his question is whether a top 10% student from USC and a top 10% student from Fordham would have different chances of transfering into NYU or Columbia, that is a legitimate questions. One which I don't know the answer to. My hunch is that your chances would be about the same, even though Fordham is "ranked lower"
But yes, NEVER go to a school when your plans hinge on transferring.

Given that I am equally excited towards attending both USC and Fordham, I am simply asking people's opinons on this topic to have another piece of important information. I certainly would not attend one school over the other just because it gave me an edge in transferring.
