Too long of a commute?
How long is too long of a commute? I'm thinking about living at home next year and driving about 40 min each way to school. Would save roughly 9k in expenses. Is it worth it/doable?

40 minutes is fine. Also, I find driving pretty relaxing. A 40 minute bus ride, I might re-think.

Re: Too long of a commute?
I did 45-70 minutes each way for my last two years of undergrad. It sucked cock and definitely lowered my productivity. I don't think I'd opt for it given only a 27k savings, but I did a 30 minute commute for high school too, so I'm pretty fed up on commuting. 40 minutes is definitely reasonable, just not fun.ohiohawk58 wrote:How long is too long of a commute? 40mins...lots of people do longer than that and do fine.
Also, there's a good chance your commute in summers or 3 yrs will be 40 mins or longer.
Can't let that dissuade you.

I will never have a 40 minute commute to work. I hate suburbs and would rather own less crap and have a nice condo near work.boiler cat wrote:40mins...lots of people do longer than that and do fine.
