UC Davis/Hastings vs. $$$ at McGeorge?

Post by Daisy16 » Tue May 31, 2011 2:13 pm

Please tell me if I'm crazy for considering McGeorge?? I want to do public interest work in the bay area (either peninsula or SF) and am feeling increasingly uncomfortable about graduating over $100k in debt...I know Hastings has a great PICAP program for PI loan repayment, but am worried about what happens if I can't find a PI job when I graduate. Appreciate any feedback!

No way should you take McGeorge vs money at Davis or Hastings. I'd go Davis, but in your case, Hastings might be TCR

30k at McGeorge would still leave you paying for 10k in tuition and COL which can easily amount to 100K in debt at graduation. Although you are debt averse the job prospects coming out of both Davis and Hastings will put you in a better position. In my opinion the cheapest UC option you have is your best choice since they are both great schools.
