Just got my BLS scholarship upgraded to a full ride (with same top 40% stipulation, I would assume--calling on Monday to confirm this). If I pick BLS, I would have no debt and an extra 16k times 3 years in my bank account (money I would have otherwise spent on Cardozo).
Cardozo has offered me 21k per year, plus I can pay another 16k per year. I would commute from home and would end up owing approx 25k total in debt once I finished school.
Which option makes the most sense? I prefer Cardozo but BLS is throwing 47k per year at me. In terms of career options, I want the best job possible but do not have a "biglaw"-or-bust mentality.
Is Cardozo a better enough school to justify choosing in this situation?

I think the way you posed it is a little confusing. Are you really talking about a $73K difference in cost of attendance (25K + 48K) or a 25K difference? Also, if you can commute to one why can't you commute to the other?

BLS, but I would quit if I lose the scholarship.

Sorry for the confusion. I can commute to both schools.blsingindisguise wrote:I think the way you posed it is a little confusing. Are you really talking about a $73K difference in cost of attendance (25K + 48K) or a 25K difference? Also, if you can commute to one why can't you commute to the other?
The difference in money is a bit confusing, but you are right. At BLS, I would come out of the school with 48k in the bank and no debt, while at Cardozo I would come out owing 25k and with no money in the bank.
