George Mason In-State or GW at Sticker? Forum

Having a hard time deciding between George Mason in-state and GW at sticker. I'm interested in corporate and securities law. Assuming cost of living is the same, are the improved employment prospects at GW worth the additional 22 grand per year in tuition?

No scholarship money from either school so I'll be relying solely on loans. An extra 60-70 thousand plus interest in debt is scary, but GW is a significantly better school. Thoughts?

What are your numbers? And when did you apply? Not fishing to giving you standard retake response but if you got into GW you should be getting some money from George Mason.

If COL is the sam I would take on the extra 60k to go to GW. But if your talking about living in VA and having a long commute to GW to keep COL the same I would go GM enough stress in 1L as far as I can tell without adding commuting.

Thanks Enron. I applied on the later side with 170/3.1. I spoke with GM admissions regarding scholarship money. They said they might be able to make additional offers in the coming weeks following their seat deposit deadline. Being a newer, small state school with limited resources I wouldn't bank on that though. I was originally on the wl at GW - I'm pretty pumped I got in but was obviously borderline with a low gpa.

With those scores, you should wait and reapply to better schools.
