Cleveland Marshall School of Law VERSUS Mississippi College
While the verdict is still out on my top choices. Does anyone have any thoughts on Cleveland Marshall School of Law and Mississippi College School of Law? Which is the better school between the two? Haven't much on the two although they are 3rd tiers. Any information is much appreciated.

Depends if you want to be unemployed in the Midwest or in the South.

Re: Cleveland Marshall School of Law VERSUS Mississippi College
Mississippi college would be better in strict terms. However, it's not worth more than $50,000 or so of debt. Really.
On positive note, by the time you graduate from there, it would likely be considered to be the strongest law school instate for being "hired." More employers are now recruiting there than at Ole Miss, and although that doesn't necessarily mean much at the moment, it implies that more employers are (slowly) becoming more comfortable with the school.

wrong! OP could do well in either school and secure employment, and Mississipi college is a great school by itselfKMaine wrote:Depends if you want to be unemployed in the Midwest or in the South.

don't listen to them OP, they are very elitists and are against anyone pursuing their dreams if they don't go to a T-14, work hard in any of those two schools and you could have a bright future, or hopefully you end up in one of your top choices that trump these twoprezidentv8 wrote:--LinkRemoved--red_alertz wrote:wrong! While this is sage advice, you should come up with a new way to say this.rad law wrote:Due to bad job prospects from both, retake or don't go.

Don't listen to this poster, OP. We are not elitist and do not have the T-14 or bust mindset. Hard work in law school is not enough.red_alertz wrote:don't listen to them OP, they are very elitists and are against anyone pursuing their dreams if they don't go to a T-14, work hard in any of those two schools and you could have a bright future, or hopefully you end up in one of your top choices that trump these twoprezidentv8 wrote:--LinkRemoved--red_alertz wrote:wrong! Choose Mississippi. At least it's the only game in town.

Re: Cleveland Marshall School of Law VERSUS Mississippi College
OP unless you have some strong desider to be in Mississippi i would think that reassessing how you studied for the LSAT- applying some of the study techniques from this site to your study plan, and then re-trying your application next cycle would be a good option. Ohio has a ton of law schools- and you need to have a job lined up to go to cleveland marshall. Mississippi college will limit you to mississippi after graduation for your first job. The south can have a tendency to not like outsiders, so you may encounter some negative responses to your employment inquiries- unless you have strong reasons for working there.
best of luck. TLS may be elitist in some ways- but all in all there is some good advice to be found here- as long as you are willing to take it.

OP- If you must choose between these 2, it shouldn't matter which is "better". It comes down to where you want to practice.

You're right, but what I meant was that competition in Mississippi < competition in Ohio.rad law wrote:No it's not.MrPapagiorgio wrote: Choose Mississippi. At least it's the only game in town.
Just because you say it over and over again does not make it true.red_alertz wrote:OP , of the two, go to mississippi, just study hard and u will be fine

No facts do. "Studying hard" is not enough for success. There must be other factors.red_alertz wrote:just because u keep saying otherwise doesn't make what i say false either

don't hate, let the man walk his own path, hard work is the basis for every success, unless ur extremely lucky, given OP's having these two choices, we'd assume he didn't try too hard in undergrad, so it's only fair he works even harder than others in law school to make up the hours he owed back then and be successfulbjsesq wrote:No facts do. My thought is one "Cleveland State v. Ole Miss" thread is more than enough.

Red_alertz, please shut up and allow posters with actual knowledge of law school to give OP advice. Everyone works hard in law school. The people who finish below median, below top quarter, etc... are not dumb or lazy. Law school grades are very arbitrary.
