Northwestern vs. UCLA
Full ride at both schools.
I think I would be happiest at UCLA, close to home/friends, grew up in CA.
However, I would consider Northwestern if it has significantly better job prospects.
Does anybody know how Northwestern and UCLA's job prospects compare?

If you want to work in CA then I'd say take UCLA. NU has better overall job prospects, but I'm not sure that necessarily correlates with a significant edge in CA. Plus, if you end up in the bottom 50% of your class it is going to be far easier to get a job in CA coming from UCLA than it would be from NU

Where do you want to work? If LA, then I'll see you at UCLA next year.

What kind of jobs do you want? Where do you want to be eventually?
Dont think UCLA is the objective CR here given no information except that you have family and friends in LA.

I am really open to working in any market. As of now, I prefer LA but in a few years who knows...
My biggest issue is that I currently have no work experience. How important is this when doing OCI?

Maybe in a few years you're going to want to live as a hermit in the wilds of Cambodia. You know you like LA, you don't know whether you'd like other places. Go to the place that you are sure of.beebee18 wrote:I am really open to working in any market. As of now, I prefer LA but in a few years who knows...
It helps, but grades will be far more important.beebee18 wrote:My biggest issue is that I currently have no work experience. How important is this when doing OCI?

You're in at NU with no work experience? And a full-ride? And not deferred a year? Interesting.beebee18 wrote:I am really open to working in any market. As of now, I prefer LA but in a few years who knows...

I'd probably pick UCLA. Everyone at NU is going to have work experience. Also, UCLA is going to be better for LA market.

No, my Northwestern acceptance is 1 year deferred $50,000/ yr total $150,000.
If work experience is really important at OCI, then this is an probably a benefit of going to Northwestern, if I can get a relevant job for the next year.
