Emory?
Heres the deal. I got into Emory with 10k a year. At first I didn't think id be considering this because of the cost. This was before I was dinged at BC, dinged at Indiana, WLd at W&M, WLd at Maryland, and not given money at Pitt, which is the only TT school I applied to where I could actually see myself living. I was really shocked they didnt give me money and I value my time and I put time into the LSAT, so I cant justify going there without money, but what are you going to do. My question is, does anyone thing Emory is worth this cost if its my only tier one option? Im guessing id have to take out roughly 165k.
Also, I plan on retaking in June, and depending on how that goes, either asking for more money, or if I did significantly better, waiting a cycle.

Re: Emory?
I'd take a T2 for cheap (with minimal to no scholly stipulations) over 165k at Emory (or most other T1's for that matter).
Even if you don't do better this June, if you don't have any cheap T2 offers then I would still sit out and retake a 3rd time in October.

Strange cycle, might be further proof how off Emory is. Rejected at IUb, WL at Maryland yet into Emory with money...
What are your other options ?

Seton Hall with 35k, but I really cannot stand the area. Its hard for me to turn down that money, but honestly, I cant see myself living there.
Im working on getting money from Pitt, because I would like to live there pretty much more than anywhere.
The strange thing about IUB is that they were handing out money to 166s. I applied a little late, but not ridiculously late.

Yeah man. They were going nuts early on. Looking at LSN, I had really expected to get in.crit_racer wrote:I got dinged from IUB today. They just blew their wad early.

Difficult to understand why OP didn't get $120,000 from Indiana.

Re: Emory?
i got dinged with an LSAT above 166. I'm sure it was just b/c I was late. IUB admissions lacks discipline haha.

Literally, there is not one person on LSN with a 166 that got dinged.

Re: Emory?
Nothing to do with that. Indiana just has enough high LSATs. They need high GPAs now. They're in fact trying to get people with high LSATs to defer, so your numbers are, at this point in the cycle, worth nothing to them.
Might want to simply wait and reapply next year... your numbers are better than your results.

I really cant handle the thought of retaking and reapplying, but at this point I think its my best bet. I left points on the table first time around, and really could have studied harder.
A couple LSAT points and early applications will do me wonders.....
Right?

Re: Emory?
Yeah. The general breakdown is something like:bport hopeful wrote:A couple LSAT points and early applications will do me wonders.....
Right?
Low 160's go to TT's.
Mid 160's go to T50's.
High 160's go to T20's.
Low 170's go T14's.
