Anyone choose GTOWN over NU?
Stole this idea a bit. The question isn't "Why choose GULC over NU?" or "Should I choose GULC over NU?" Its "Who already has picked GULC?"
I've heard all the TLS reasons, done my pro/con lists, and I just am curious if anyone has actually selected GULC?
EDIT:
If you haven't figured it out, I am looking for a devil's advocate.

I can guarantee you that in the history of these law schools at least person has done it. Heck, I would hazard that even last year there was at least one person who took GULC over NU at equal cost.SemperLegal wrote:Stole this idea a bit. Re: Anyone choose GTOWN over NU?
lols for the poll results and two (now three) immediate responses from people who did not make the choice of GULC over NU. I know that people have done it, I know that there are reasons to, I just want to bounce ideas of someone who actually did it.
With all due respect, if the glove don't fit, GTFO of this thread, and this thread alone..

I'm taking GTown over Cornell this year. I know they are peer schools in a sense but the most recent NLJ numbers makes it feel like I'm choosing GULC over a school like NU.

I conceivably had a shot at both with ED, and I chose to ED to GULC.

Took me a while to understand what you meant, but now I got it. What made you choose a less-well placing school?

I was gonna edit to explain but I figured people would figure it out after re-reading it a couple timesSemperLegal wrote:Mike12188 wrote:I'm taking GTown over Cornell this year. I feel like there are quite a few people going to GULC who are looking strictly for Gov't/PI and that explains their NLJ number to a certain extent. GULC gets much more hate than warranted on TLS, in fact the last thread I was in someone was ripping on GeorgeTTTown but was hoping to get in off the waitlist at Wake Forest

I would have taken GULC over NU at equal cost because of location. I would much rather be in DC than Chicago. NU's total CoA would have to be $20k+ cheaper for me to consider it over GULC. I didn't apply to either, though.

Meh, it's important to have perspective. Although GTown seems to lag behind the T13 in placement, and although it gets more than its share of TLS hate, it's still one of the top schools in the country. And I think TLS has a tendency to undervalue personal fit in choosing a law school. If GTown matches up with your career goals and personal preferences more than other schools, then I can certainly understand choosing it over MVPDNC, even at equal or slightly greater cost.

I may attend Georgetown, and didn't even apply to NU.....NU seems to focus super-heavily on Big Law, which I have no interest in, while Georgetown has a better location, and better public interest opportunities.
