AU for Gov't/PI work, please help!!

Post by spamalot » Tue Mar 29, 2011 10:01 pm

Hi, everyone.
I need your advice on choosing my path.
LSAT: first time (cancelled score); second time- 164
GPA: 2.9

I've been accepted to American so far with no scholarhip and waitlisted at Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, W&M, and UWashington.
I don't expect too much to get off the waitlist so what I have on my hands is American alone.
I want to work Government job (federal or state) and I don't have anyone to give me an advice regarding law school.
How hard is to get a gov't job in DC coming out from AU?

Currently, the debt is not my primary concern for I've saved some money for tuition but I'm also hoping for LRAP if I work for gov't job for 10 years.

Is it worth the risk going to AU shooting for gov't job that will pay off debt through LRAP after 10 years?

Thank you in advance for your advice.

I know there's so much hate about going to AU at sticker price but your advice would be much appreciated.

For retaking LSAT, even if I score 170, because of my pathetic GPA, I don't expect to get in anywhere around 14-20. What do you guys think?

You play the cards you are dealt. You will just have to hustle.
