I was awarded a $75,000 scholarship (roughly half tuition) to USC, my alma mater. I was also accepted to NYU with what I expect will be no need or merit-based aid. I didn't enjoy Los Angeles the first time around, and I think I'd rather practice on the East Coast, but my main concerns are gaining employment upon graduation (hopefully in public interest), regardless of location, and not spending the rest of my life drowning in debt.
Thoughts?

I voted NYU. Based off what you said about employment and LA, I think NYU is a no-brainer....

You don't like LA... go to NYU as it will give you access to NYC, DC (if you do well), LA, and wherever else you have ties. Also, NYU is fantastic for PI so I see no reason to go to USC.
Were you to go to USC you'd be stuck in LA.

You want to go East?
You want to do PI?
You go to NYU. You'll have insane job opportunities in NY and a good LRAP to help you cover loans.
