Hey guys,
Previously here I asked for advices about a choice between IUB$ and Cardozo$. And I really appreciate the opinions you shared about that. I was leaning a little more toward IUB since I thought it could give me more options in the future. Shortly after that, I got a decision from Ohio State (Ohio State$), which made me a bit unsure about where should I go. Given all the information in this thread and others, I have the impression that Indiana U-Bloomington$ and Ohio-State$ are quite similar schools (USNews IUB-23 vs.OHS-35). They are all regional (although strong), all state-university, so I assume their job prospect are pretty the same? I, although quite open to other job options, plan to work in the east coast, preferably NYC or PA. Are there anything I should have considered but failed to? I really appreciate if you could share it with me. Thank you!

I would wager that your employment prospects in general are better from Ohio State.
Ohio State is the best school in its state, and the state has multiple large metropolitan areas. Granted, some T14 graduates will be looking for jobs in these areas two. Indiana doesn't attract as many T14 graduates, but IUB would face more competition from instate schools (IUI and Notre Dame graduates that got screwed over).

IU-Indy places well, but every hiring partner knows that IU-B > IU-Indy, and many Notre Dame graduates aren't looking to stick around, because the school has a much greater national reach and the student body tends to have a greater percentage of its students (compared to IU-B, at least traditionally) from outside of Indiana and the Midwest (the students have a greater capacity to leave Indiana if they want to and many want to because they are not from Indiana--this could be a causal relationship, but maybe not). IU-B, also tends to compete with OSU, to an extent worth mentioning at least, in southern Ohio, principally in Cincinnati.
Nevertheless, Aberzombie makes a good point, OSU faces less competition in the Ohio legal market than IU-B does Indiana.
Bottom line: OP, you aren't getting east coast from either of these schools. If you want the Midwest, go to the cheaper one.

As you said, they are both regional schools, and since they are not located in NYC or PA you should not go to either one.tiansnake wrote:Hey guys,

And as for OSU, they have to compete with both Cincy and Case grads, both of which do better in their respective cities. Only go to OSU if you would be content with columbus.
