NYC PI: Full$$$@Cardozo vs. Sticker @ Columbia/GULC Forum

Hi --

The answer seems somewhat obvious, but I want to hear opinions anyway to check my thinking.

Should I choose full ride (w/ top 80% stip) at Cardozo, where there's a clinic that relates very closely to my specific interests

OR

Sticker at GULC or Columbia (where I'm held)?

The better schools all have LRAPs, but of course there's a chance of my not getting a job ITE. Also, I come from a very poor family. Like NO $$$$ at all. So I'm very cautious about taking on any kind of debt.

I want to do public interest, preferably in NYC. I already live in the area so would have very low COL.

Tough choice; its hard to advise anyone to take on 150k+ debt if you're really uncomfortable with that kind of number. Still, Columbia is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I think a degree like that is worth the risk. Go for it, you only live once.

Edit: Just noticed you were held at Columbia. I would pass on GT in your situation. Since you could live for free in NY and want to practice there.

Columbia's LRAP program is insane. If you wanna do PI you will have no problem getting your loans paid off.

If not... since you're held at CLS and in at GULC where else did you get in? NYU? Cornell?
