Wayne or Michigan State?
I have lived in Michigan my entire life and would like to work in Michigan, so going out of state and paying sticker for a better regional school isnt for me.
I have full scholarships to both. My family and gf are closer to east lansing. I also have already taken one year off and I am settling with my current 158, as I don't want to take another year off. any help?

Would you prefer to work in Detroit or closer to East Lansing? Have you visited both schools?

I really would rather not live in Detroit but I guess I just want a school that will give me the best chance to find a job right away. I've visited State and I visit wayne next week.

Sounds like you'd be happier at MSU

I picked MSU over Wayne State even before I read your post. Good luck.

I would go MSU all the way. I think it is on the up and up in a way that Wayne is not. I am considering going to MSU over much higher ranked schools (although as you know $$ doesn't hurt). Although I am banking on the hope that MSU will continue to improve in the rankings . . . I do have faith that it will. And if you are interested in any type of law where you could find a job with the state government, the Lansing area is a good place to be (although in other ways a less awesome place to be . . definitely not Kalamazoo
).
So my vote is for MSU

I thought that Wayne state was considered to be better than MSU.
Either way, I would look at total cost of attendance for each (housing) and consider going with the cheaper one.

New rankings place MSU ahead of Wayne State for what it's worth. OP I'm curious if you are an URM or have a great life story or something to have a 158 with full rides to both schools. I thought both schools medians were around 157ish. Congrats though and good luck!

Go with MSU. People will tell you that Wayne dominates Detroit and the surrounding area but it's becoming evident that Wayne grads are losing momentum to MSU grads. Considering how much money MSU is putting into the law school and the national sports reputation, MSU is def going to get better. Plus, if you ever do end up wanting to leave Michigan, at least people have heard of MSU whereas almost no one knows Wayne.

If you want elsewhere in Michigan, go MSU.
Congrats on the scholarships!

From what I remember you need like 160 or 161 to get a full scholly but I think a number of people over that threshold who got full schollies at MSU declined the offer. Since MSU is trying to do all it can to get higher quality applicants to attend, they prob started to offer to lower than threshold lsats.chalhou1 wrote:not a urm.158, 3.78 went to msu as an undegrad. The King scholarship is the one that requires a 161. The faculty, which is the one I got requires at least a 158

Re: Wayne or Michigan State?
I'd say MSU every time. I applied as well and got a 75% scholly, and after staking MSU forums and statistics, I'm continually more and more impressed with the school. Plus with its new 95th ranking, securely in the T2, its continually rise seems imminent. I personally only hesitate because I'm a very much a Westerner; connecting through Detroit's airport a few times is the extent of my knowledge regarding Michigan.

this might be a stupid question, but do you guys think I should try lowering the stipulations on my scholarship? currently it's at a 3.0
or is this a bad idea?
