JD/MBA from Wake Forest vs. UNC Law Forum

Just curious about what people think.

Doing JD/MBA at UNC not an option? I believe you can apply into it as a 1L.

I just say this because the UNC MBA program is far better than Wake's.

Need some more info. What do you wanna do? How many years work experience do you have? Any $$$ from either?

I have 1.5 years work experience. I am interested in international business and maybe international law. Not really sure about my path but I think that is part of my interest in the dual degree.

I like UNC more then Wake. They are peer schools but I prefer Chapel Hill to Winston-Salem.

The thing that concerns me about Wake is that their MBA program is second tier. I don't know how much value it adds.

These are both very respected law schools. Two right choices, in my opinion.

Are you in-state? Has either school offered you money?

There really isnt much of a point to getting an MBA from a non-elite B School unless your employer requires one for promotion. It doesnt seem to give you much of an advantage in law either. That said, go with UNC assuming equal cost. Get an MBA later from a top school if you still want to branch out into Business.
