Why is Stanford's LSAT median so low? Forum

I am confused. Is Stanford more holistic than Yale? Do people with higher LSATs get into H and Y and thus reject Stanford? That would explain the relatively lower yield compared to H and Y.

possible explanations, from someone who has no idea:

1) They just tend to place greater comparative weight on GPA.

2) They realize that given the USNews methodology, its impossible for them to pass Yale (even given a class with median gpa 4.0, median lsat 180, and perfect reputation scores), so they focus more on indicators of student quality than what will help their ranking, so they care more about a high gpa in a hard major or something.

I highly doubt that Stanford gives a flying f*ck about a shitty magazine's ranking system. It is Stanford. An excellent university.
