Is WashU (45k/yr) worth forgoing Duke
So, right now Im sitting on 45k a year to WashU. I got an acceptance from Duke (it will most likely be at sticker or near sticker as I am at median for LSAT and slightly below for GPA). Where would you go. Yes, I know there are other good options such as UT, Vandy, which I have applied to, and I am waiting for Vandys offer, and I am in-state plus scholarship (9500 a yr) from UT...and one of these could be a better option. But for comparing these schools. Let's compare the extremes!
For biglaw then clerkship

you're getting 9500 a year at UT or it would cost you 9500 a year?

I would be really hesitant to pay sticker or near-sticker for those schools, so if I were you, I would probably take the scholarship at UT, if you think you wouldn't mind living and working in Texas.

In light of your career goals, Duke seems to be the better option.

Do you mean you're receiving 45k/year at WUSTL? As in full ride?

Duke has a higher chances of success but much worse penalties for failure.
WashU has a much lower chance of success but lesser penalties.
There isn't any right answer.

Duke, but you're gonna get a ton of cash from Vandy. So Vandy. Or Texas.

Vandy's coming, but personally, just between the two. I'd take the full ride. The difference is big, but not WUSTL v Chicago big.
