What class should I sit in on?
In trying to evaluate where to go, do any of you think that sitting in on a class is a significant factor? If so, which class(es) do you think is/are ideal for evaluating whether you'd like to attend?

Ask current 1Ls who the best professors are.

Why does it matter that I'm not a current UG?let/them/eat/cake wrote:meh, thought this was a post from an UG considering law school. still, answer is the same: civpro, of course.

no, it's just that, if you know you're going to law school anyway, it doesn't really matter what class you sit in on, nor will it meaningfully help decide between schools. i like the idea of UGs sitting in on a good civpro class though.androstan wrote:Why does it matter that I'm not a current UG?let/them/eat/cake wrote:meh, thought this was a post from an UG considering law school. still, answer is the same: civpro, of course.

I second Civpro- I find that people who liked civpro are also the ones who are excited about practicing.

3L class. Make sure you talk to a handful of people and listen to what they are doing for employment after school is over. Listen carefully for concrete answers. Many people will say "I have a number of things lined up" or "I have a couple options I am looking at" or "I am hoping my unpaid internship will allow me to stay on for awhile until I find something more permanent". Few are the folks who say "I am doing X and it is a paying job".
