This may seem like a dumb question, but when people say that they got $X from a certain school, does that mean that they're received $X every year, or is it a lump-sum grant?
For example, if on LSN, somebody says that they're getting $40 000 from Berkeley, does that mean it's a yearly scholarship, or a total scholarship?
Thanks!

Thanks!
Also, how are scholarships given? It seems that unlike undergrad, these scholarships are solely merit-based. Yet on LSN, I see a bunch of people with very similar stats, yet one gets a full ride while others get none.
What's the criteria?

Re: Question about scholarship numbers
It depends on the school. Some schools have separate competitive scholarship applications that take more into account than numbers. The vast majority of the time, however, the person without anything listed was probably just lazy/didn't want to share their scholarship info/is fudging their numbers.kpuc wrote:Thanks!
