I've been accepted to the Day Program at Loyola (LA) and orientation is just a week and a half away. But I recently got a job offer at a law firm that specializes in immigration---I could work there part time as a legal assistant while attending Loyola's Evening Program.
What would you do?
Go the regular route and do full-time study for 3 years
OR
Make some money, gain some experience, and get your JD albeit in 4 years?
Any Loyola alumni with advice?

Nope; nothing in terms of scholarships.
I saved about $15,000 this past year to live on for as long as I can.
My family has offered to help me get through law school---instead of taking the full $55,000+ loan, I'm only taking $40,000 for tuition and living at home; my parents will be paying for living expenses and supplies, etc.
Considering the crappy economy and all of the major news sources saying that going to law school is the worst investment ever/you'll never get a job, is it worth it to take a legal job while one's being offered?

I vote you take the job & do part time, for the reason you just mentioned.
