loyola$$ matching offer vs kent$$

Post by sws246 » Tue Jul 13, 2010 12:39 pm

wanted to get the forum's advice -

declined T30 schools for $30K scholly with 3.2 gps req from Kent. declined loyola's $10K. they called with upped offer of $20K which i also declined. now they are matching $30k with 3.0 gpa req.

since scholly amount is the same, wanted to get thoughts/advice of forum on what is better. ambivalent on both schools since underwhelmed by loyola's admission staff (you should see the numerous emails and email retractions they sent the last several months) but did not have a chance to view Kent "live" during semester to get a feel.

for those who decided between these schools - ur thoughts on the vibe at the 2 schools? pls pm or answer with ur thoughts.

thx!

did the 10k and 20k offers from loyola have a gpa requirement? if not, i would take their 20k/yr offer with no gpa requirement.

the job prospects for these 2 schools are basically the same. before this recession you would need to be in the top 1/3 of their classes to make 60k/yr or more.
just go with whichever one is cheaper or has the lower gpa requirement.
