Head or Heart?
You have a choice as a 0L:
Law School 1: You know it offers better opportunities in the state you want to practice in. However, when you're on the campus you don't get that warm fuzzy feeling that you do at...
Law School 2: Nowhere near the job prospects in the state you want to practice in (as in zero), but you feel great when you're there. You wonder if that warm fuzziness will help you perform better.
What type of person are you? Do you go with your head or with your heart?

me too. i picked oregon at sticker over unlv with a very small scholarship. about a 20,000/yr difference. I know a lot of people here think that is dumb, and maybe it is, but i'm willing to pay a little bit more money over my life to make sure i'm not miserable during one of the hardest periods of my life.
i start in august, so i obviously don't know how that's gonna turn out, but we will see. Follow your heart, but let your head kick your heart in the groin if it tries anything too bold.

Go to school that feeds the region you want to practice.

This is an interesting question. I say go with your heart. BUT!!! Go where your heart wants to practice law, not where your heart wants to go to law school. LS will last 3 years. Your career will last the rest of your life. So your question should be where you want to PRACTICE in your heart, not where you feel warm and fuzzy in law school.

Does warm and fuzzy come with a 50K tuition bill forced up my soft spot? Couple that with no job prospect, I fail to see how you could feel any fuzzy inside anymore......
The choices you are giving us are not equals, its only law school...not the choice between the sultry slut for one night or the faithful boring wife on the other...stability vs lust.... but this is just law school man!

Warm fuzziness should have nothing to do with it. I'd go to the school with the better prospects for the future I want. I can suffer through 3 years anywhere, what matters is what comes after.

Well since someone brought it up....warm n fuzzy is free. Non-fuzzy is half and puts me quite a bit in the hole when all is said and done. And yes, heart of where to practice is non-fuzzy.

Re: Head or Heart?
How badly do you want to practice in state A? Because if that's like your life plan and you really want to be there then you'd be kind of an idiot to go with heart here. I mean I would love to spend 3 years at Space Camp rather than law school, but I'm pretty sure it would be hard to get a job as a lawyer after that. Going to a place that doesn't put you in the region you want to work in makes very little sense unless that region is negotiable. If you wouldn't mind practicing in the region of heart school and it places decently well there, go there.
That being said it would be really helpful to know what schools we're talking about. Because it makes a difference if we're talking University of Minnesota vs UCLA or Fordham vs Ole Miss.
Personally I don't understand the 'warm and fuzzies' over a school thing. School is school. Some have slightly different cultures or better facilities, but your school experience will be determined mostly by the professors you get and the people you meet, and those things are hard to predict. City school is located in can also make a big difference (I understand wanting to live in Nashville Tennessee over Ithaca New York) but it seems like head school is in the region you prefer...

Re: Head or Heart?
Warm & fuzzy can be a factor to consider--just like employment opportunities, cost, and location.
Don't focus on a single factor. Just because one school offers better employment opportunities does not make it a better school overall. (Shocking, I know). Consider the other factors. I would list "warn & fuzzy" last among the factors identified above.
What are the schools, where do you want to practice, what type of work do you want to do, and what is your total expected indebtedness from each?

If you want to be a lawyer you'll need to stop thinking with your heart at some point anyway. Better now than later.
Also CC is that a selftar? You are incredibly attractive. I think i've hooked up with someone who looked like you once, and as it turned out she had a penis bigger than mine.

Unless your "heart" school is a "national" school that puts people into your area of desired employment.....use your head for now.

I'd rather be unhappy for 3 years and then be able to get a good job in my target market than be happy for 3 years and have to practice in some shithole state like South Dakota.
