Help! Where do I start?
So I got my June LSAT score this weekend and did better than I thought - 167! However, my GPA is a 3.14. I'm 4 years out of undergrad with so-so work experience, live in New England and want to stay on the East Coast. Currently my list of schools is:
Reaches:
BC, BU, UNC, William & Mary, Fordham
Targets:
UConn, Northeastern, Pitt
Probably (?) Safeties
UMaine, Suffolk, Quinnipiac
Does anyone have any suggestions? Tips? Am I out of my mind and wasting money applying to my reach schools? I'm open to going further away from the the East Coast if it means a better school, but I don't want to waste time/money if I don't have a chance.

I do not think that you are out of your mind to apply to those reaches. Your list looks good. You could probably add GWU to your reaches and U Maryland to your targets if those schools interest you.

I'd say that your safeties are solid. But I most like that Maine Law is on that list
I recommend using the search function to find threads with keyword "splitter." It will help you develop your own strategy. Keep adding/changing a couple of schools to that list.

You could probably get into WUSTL and Illinois with that LSAT.

I'd probably add W&L. According to LSN, they let in almost everyone with a 166+ this year.
Good luck!

This too.savagecheater wrote:I'd get your apps in early, and send one to Indiana (Bloomington), Illinois, and WUSTL as well.
I'm thinking maybe something like this:
Reaches: BC, BU, UNC, William & Mary, Fordham, GW
Targets: WUSTL, IU, UIUC, OSU, Wake Forest
Safeties: UConn, Northeastern, Pitt, Villanova

Re: Help! Where do I start?
Thanks for the advice everyone. I had considered adding WUSTL and Illinois to my list but they are a little far away, but what the hell, why not?
Maine Law is not only on my list, it's actually a strong contender, especially if I get $$ there. I love Maine and I love less debt! I have no problem getting waitlisted/rejected - I applied early to my undergrad, so I've actually never been rejected from a school before. I think it'd be good for me.
