Scholarship or Sticker Wake/Vandy
I've been real impressed with Wake Forest so far this year and have received a pretty good scholarship. However, I feel like I have a pretty good chance of getting off the waitlist at Vandy, albeit no guarantees. Assuming I do, which would you choose? Also, I have to make a deposit pretty soon to secure Wake vs a May 1 deadline for TN and WI. Does anyone know if I can get this extended? I wonder if WI might match?

Well, you're obviously paying out of state at Wake. Being an NC resident, I'd be paying the same. They're private.

Tennessee instate tuition is 13k/year. Total cost: 30k. Rank 59th.
Wake Forest is 36k/year. Total cost: 48k. Ranked 40th.
Wisconsin out of state is 36k/year. Total cost: 78k. Ranked 35th.
Vanderbilt is 45k/year. Total cost: 135k. Ranked 17th.
I'm going to throw Wisconsin out under the presumption you want to practice within your region - and perhaps more specifically, within Tennessee. Only reason to go to Wisconsin would be if you want to practice in the Mid-West (though I cannot attest to the range of a Wisconsin degree).
Tennessee vs Wake forest becomes a matter of state vs state. It does seem to me, and this is purely anecdotal, that Wake has a reputation that is not commensurate with its ranking. In a good way.
Not sure what to say about Vanderbilt. Is it worth 100k? Does it afford more flexibility?
If I wanted to practice in Tenn, I'd go to Tennessee.
If I wanted to practice in a national major market (excluding Chicago) I'd go to Vanderbilt.
If I want to practice in North Carolina, I'd go to Wake Forest.

Re: Scholarship or Sticker Wake/Vandy
For me right now, I think it comes down to Wake Forest or Vandy. I like the idea of a more mobile degree, but I also like the idea of less debt. I probably wouldn't stay in TN after graduation--who knows about staying in NC. When it comes to the midwest, I prefer warmer weather, though I'm not against the region. My family is originally from MN.
