Depositing Today! Relief to be DONE thread =)
I am depositing today at Brooklyn--full ride with top 40% stipulation.
Its been a VERY long cycle--I started writing my PS in the summer of 2008..I've been working on this cycle since then and and I am SO GLAD to finally be done and SO READY to start law school.
I got waitlisted everywhere from my safeties to my super-reach. and a few denials in between. And note to future applicants: retake the lsat if you're not happy with your score!!! My feb retake (which was my 3rd attempt following two identical stores in june and september) was the best decision I ever made. Those 5 hours of testing earned me 135k (as long as I stay in the top 40% haha)--so worth it.
Anyway, so this is my celebratory thread! woohooo ::party hat::

Congratulations. Sending in my deposit was the single greatest moment of my last six months. Glad the cycle is over for you too.

Congrats. I can't wait to post a "me, too" in this thread. I think it's going to be a wait until the bitter end...or at least, the bitter first deadline (May 1st).

I'm on so many wait lists. At this point, the first school to admit me is getting a deposit and my undying loyalty.

Nope...I'm waiting on a scholarship offer that probably won't come through. Either way, it'll be done soon! I'm ready to start wearing one of the free ASW t-shirts I picked up. Superstition prevents me from wearing any shirt from a school I haven't totally committed to.goosey wrote:Are u waiting on william & mary??Tangerine Gleam wrote:Congrats. Putting down my deposit was a huge relief on the one hand but now I am absolutely terrified of actually going to law school and trying to compete with a bunch of bright people.
Oh well.
Oh well.

Exact same. Its like college signing day or something. On the day I commit, I will proudly wear that T-shirt. In fact, I have a t-shirt for both schools I'm considering. Neither will be touched until that deposit is sent.Tangerine Gleam wrote:Nope...I'm waiting on a scholarship offer that probably won't come through. Either way, it'll be done soon! Rutgers-Camden offered me in-state tuition (im from NC) and a $15,000 scholarship, after I told them I needed more help; that means Ill only be paying $10k a year to go to law school. Im going to hold my WL's at Notre Dame and UNC, but I just sealed the envelope to send to Rutgers! It feels good to know that I will be going to a school that actually wants me.

I deposited Tuesday but I'm ED so it doesn't care as much weight. I knew where I was going before Christmas.

Haha my signing day sucked - only 3 local beat reporters showed up. But this was MUCH easier - no feelings involved or relationships with coaches. Just followed the money

Loved sending in my deposit, but I hated writing withdraw e-mails to schools that admitted me with $$$.

Yes, it's lame.kajosa wrote:Is it lame that I took a picture of myself with my deposit envelope? Whatever, because putting that thing in the mail was possibly the highlight of my semester. Although if Harvard doesn't grant my deferral request, I'll look differently on the whole thing...
