Villanova vs. Penn State vs. Ohio State vs. USD
First deposits are fast approaching and I need to make a decision. I'm still waiting to hear from a lot of schools but I'm going on the assumption that they will all be rejections. I'm from California and prefer to go out of state for law school but I also don't want to rule out (or make very difficult) the possibility of practicing in my home state. I don't know what kind of law I want to practice and aside from Villanova, from whom I am still waiting for my financial aid award, the cost of attendance for all of the schools is comparable. Any input is much appreciated.

Thank you all for your votes, but unfortunately a 4-way tie is not going to be very helpful in making my decision. Would anyone else care to vote, or would those who have already voted care to share your reasons for voting the way you did?

What input are you really looking for?
Each school seems generally equitable (i.e. not T-14) for their strength, and will offer similar opportunities in their region.
Where do you want to live and work for the foreseeable future following school?
The answer to that question will be the answer to your question.

I have no real preference for where I'll want to live and work following school, and in fact I don't consider the location of any of these schools ideal. I'm mostly interested in which school has the best reputation and professors, and in which school will limit my options least with regard to where I'll be able to live and work after graduation. OSU is the highest ranked of the four, but I guess I'm just not that convinced that I will be that much better off going there than I would be by going to any of the others.

Still basically a four-way tie. Is the consensus that none of these schools is that much better or worse/more desirable or less desirable than any of the others? More votes, please?

im from philly and it's a great city!! villanova is pretty well positioned here in terms of alumni network and jobs. i dont like that it's in the suburbs--nice campus or not. however, if all things being equal, i feel like san diego would be the bomb!
penn state is bumble fuck and not better than villanova in placing in philly in general.

The state of Ohio is boring and too far from a beach. Villanova is better than PSU in Philly. Philadelphia is a world class city and is an amazing place to live. Nova has a great rep in the city and grads do well in the Philly market. Which is a huge market. Go to nova u will like the mainline area and Philly is fun and a change of pace from Cali. It's a great catholic school with a beautiful campus.

Ohio State, just for trolling's sake.
Srsly, though, I'd choose between OSU and USD. 'Nova and Penn State don't offer great options for their tuition. Penn State is secretely private btw
