Which non t-14 is worth sticker?
I am looking at schools like BC, BU, Fordham, and maybe GW (although the debt from such a school as GW is downright scary).
Are these, schools worth sticker? Are any other NON-t14 schools worth sticker?

That's all relative to your situation. If I was looking mainly at Tier 2 schools, and BU/BC/GW came out of nowhere with an acceptance, then I would REALLY strongly consider it at sticker. They are all very good schools and, in any economy but this, many of their students do really well.BarbellDreams wrote:I am looking at schools like BC, BU, paradise, and maybe GW (although the debt from such a school as GW is downright scary).

I would go to a few. Personally, I'd pay sticker for UW-Seattle. If I wanted to stay in NYC, I might consider Fordham, but man, with that cost of living and with upwards of 200k in debt and the severe competition for jobs, I'd probably take an out-of-state scholly to UConn. O.S. loves it so I'm sticking with Fordham as a yes, lol.
Yes, I intended to use the April Fools fun with this one, haha.

I can't see possibly see paradise being worth 200K no matter what, especially in SUCH a competitive market, but to each his/her own. Heck, I don't know if going to Chicago is worth 200K, so obviously I wouldn't do it for anything outside the T13, but again, that's just me, and I'm debt averse.

First, I just want to thank you for using "averse" instead of "adverse."dakatz wrote:I can't see possibly see paradise being worth 200K no matter what, especially in SUCH a competitive market, but to each his/her own. Second, I'm in a different situation than most in that I'm already screwed debt wise, so my advice sucks.

BYU. How do you beat $9,000 a year in tuition?

In-state at a good school that does very well in a decently-sized market would most likely be worth sticker, if you don't have other, more desirable options.
Washington, Colorado-Boulder, UGA, UNC, and Florida come to mind.
I also think UT-Austin is worth sticker, esp. if you want to practice in Texas or the southwest.

CU may be worth sticker but it's still certainly not cheap. Last time I did the math, it was over $110k at sticker. And that doesn't count the mid-year increase the state recently approved.

Vandy, UCLA, UTexas. Maybe some of the T1's that are best in their region, and have low instate tuition.

I would NOT pay sticker at any school < YHS ITE. It's just not worth it.

i'd tack usc to this list. it's virtually the same as ucla. and for the in-state T1 schools i think houston, UF, and UGA have the best value. i'm probably forgetting 1 or 2 big 10 schools...Desert Fox wrote:Vandy, UCLA, UTexas. UNC-Chapel Hill. Super cheap in-state
You're competing with Wake and Duke in-state, with Charlotte being the big market. However, my completely unqualified guess is that the situation with Duke is similar to Penn in Philly. Most leave and go to other markets like DC, Atlanta, NY while the ones who actually want to stay get first crack at the top jobs.
