Undergraduate Degree
Do you think that UG degrees will help in job placement outside of the location of regional law schools?

No, other than that perhaps it will give you a good explanation as to why you want to return to the region of your alma matter. Thus you can argue to the interviewee that its not an arbitrary decision if thats where you decide to go. But still, not really.

Anecdotally, some people say that having an elite UG helps your job prospects slightly. Like if a firm is deciding between two candidates with similar grades and resumes they might take the one who went to Columbia UG instead of Southwestern Mississippi State or something like that. It just looks better and adds more prestige I suppose.
Secondly, as was mentioned above, if you're returning to a region it could be a plus to have a degree from the area. It would give you a good reason to come back. It could also look good to clients. If you end up practicing in Southwestern Mississippi the folks around there might prefer the local law firm to hire native sons instead of an Ivory Tower type.
These are both marginal things that will matter far less than the law school you attend and the grades you receive there.
