No your logic doesn't make sense. How much did you study before? If you know you can consistently practice @ 165, but your actual score is 8-9 points lower, why would you commit to anything.
You only get once shot at LS, might as well get into the best school you possibly can.

Re: 165+ or bust? (Need honest responses please)
I studied my butt off for the Feb 10 test, but I was going to school at the same time. Luckily, I am out of college and do not have a job right now. Hence, I have all the time in the world to study for the June LSAT. The thing that bummed me out was that I was consistently scoring 165+ on practice tests, but bombed the Feb LSAT. I am afraid that I might choke under pressure again. What do you think? With all this time, is it worth it to take June LSAT and reapply?

It was 167 for the last couple weeks leading to February 2010 LSAT.

Are you taking the PTs under testing conditions? Five sections, with three and then a short break and then two more?

For the first few tests, I only did 4 sections, but in the last 2 weeks, I did 5 sections w/ a 167 average.

I would never accept a score that was 10 points lower than my PT average under testing conditions. My final score was 5 points lower than my all-time high, but it was right in line with my averages, perhaps one or two points lower.

Even if you split the difference, and you only get a 163, you've got a solid shot @ SF, SD, & St. Johns. Take the June LSAT again, apply as early as possible in the cycle, and hope for the best.risktaker wrote:I studied my butt off for the Feb 10 test, but I was going to school at the same time. Do everything you can to make your PTs seem like the real test. See if you can't get a roommate to time them, do them in a place with some noise distractions, try to get your nerves going before them as well as you can, take them early in the AM when you're tired etc. There's no reason why you can't come close than 10 points to your PT average.

Thanks for yours responses. I will most likely be applying next cycle. I can only hope that the next score is closer to my PT avg.

You took it twice already, some schools may average your scores. Most take the highest.risktaker wrote:My GPA is a 3.24 and I graduated last week. Double major in biochem and history. History GPA is 3.7. LSAT of 156 and 157.
I think you have a decent shot at a 160.
