Please stop saying that there are too many law schools. That point has been established over and over again, and it has been said over and over again that this thread is purely hypothetical, a sort of "I an ideal situation, I would like to go here, but it doesn't have a law school." It isn't a "They should absolutely add a law school here" thread. I guess imagination does really die when you grow up.

I think there are too many law schools, and they should close some before they open others.

What? All I said was that there are too many law schools, and they should close some.

Has that already been established?

Definitely too many as is. I'd like to see some state institutions acquire ABA accredited schools rather than open their own. UMass acquiring SNESL is frustrating because they're basically going to accredit another law school in a flooded market. At least UNH's "acquisition" of FPLC, doesn't add to the pool and theoretically should drive down the cost of a law education in NH (though this is always doubtful).

Many times, despite my attempts to remind people this is a purely hypothetical thread not in any way based in reality, its just asking where would there ideally be law schools if it were possible as opposed to the options we have now. It isn't a discussion about adding law schools.

So, hypothetically, there aren't too many law schools already?

If I were king, I'd shut down every law that wasn't a T1, plus any that are the sole law school in their state, provided they are a public school.

The schools could increase seats if they wanted to.

You're just asking us to name prestigious institutions that don't have law schools. Most people evaluate law schools not based on the prestige (or lay prestige as the case appears to be). So this appears to be an exercise in naming good liberal arts colleges (Colgate comes to mind) and other schools that had no interest in handling a law school.

Besides the fact that its been done before?

There's not substantive reason for such schools to have a law school. Unless you think MIT should have a TTTT law school to compete, the idea here is that schools with lay prestige would be capable of building equally solid law schools

The exercise is pointless, just go down the USNWR UG rankings and find schools without law schools - those schools are, according to your request for opinions, the ones that need law schools

Hey. So I didn't read the entire thread (especially not the post two down from the top of this page). But I thought I would poke my head in to say that there are too many law schools, and we shouldn't open anymore. KTHNXBAI

Every time someone says too many law schools, it reminds me of the music video for "Too many dicks on the dance floor."
