Duke/Notre Dame/Illinois???

Post by BloodandThunder » Sun Mar 28, 2010 5:05 pm

I'm looking for some other opinions/advice on my decision. I've got a 60k offer from Duke, 60k offer from ND, and a 120k offer from University of Illinois.

I'm looking to get into biglaw in Chicago (or NYC, or somewhere else, at this point I'm undecided on where I want to end up living..). That being said, will Duke place better than Illinois or ND in Chicago and does this jump from T25 to T14 justify taking on 60k more in debt? Thanks.

Yes, Duke will place much better than any non-T14 in Chicago. If you want BigLaw, you should go to Duke. /thread

Seems like a no brainer to me as well. Take the extra debt at Duke.

Duke is obviously the better school and it will open alot more doors especially with your interest in BigLaw.
