Comparable schools, comparable prices, go where you will be happy. Seems like GW would make you happy.

What if you didn't live with your parents, but still went to GW?

Sounds to me like the reason you don't want to attend GW has nothing to do with law, it's more about your social life and personal reasons . . . not that they should be discounted. Also, it seems like you're only interested in UMinn because of their scholly. I say look for a few third-party scholarships and see if you can afford to live on your own or with a roommate at GW. I think it's the better school (Personal Opinion) and it seems like you'd just rather be there. After all, it is your favorite place in the world.
Best of luck!

Something to keep in mind--Minnesota has a surprisingly decent alumni base in DC. However, I would still choose GWU in your position. If you haven't already, you should visit UMN and see how you like it.

is there a third option? neither of these seem like a good fit for your priorities
