Could you explain your thinking please? Michigan has never been ranked lower than tenth and has been as high as third. How could one hope for better?

We just had this thread.

GWU/Fordham...both got a 5 rank hit this year because they started averaging PT scores....GWU is really 20 or 21, Fordham is really 25 or 26. UF should also be higher, its starting salaries in the 80's make it look weak, but with COL in Florida....it's actually really good.

No, this is thread is asking for underranked schools, not overranked ones.

I think Temple is underrated. They seem to do really well in Philly, which is a good legal market.

In another thread several made the case that Rutgers has not made as blatant attempt to move up the rankings as other area schools, but possessed strong job prospects throughout NJ, Philadelphia, and New York combined with a solid teaching reputation. I'm not saying its a top 30 school, but it could be as good or better than higher ranked Brooklyn, Penn State, and Maryland especially when you factor in its affordability.

Better placement than a lot of T1 schools- almost 30% NLJ250 placement during the boom. They've supposedly gotten the funding they need to get to T1 status.

Put it this way: Houston is the largest city in the U.S. without a T14 school. You do have UT, but they divide their placement between Austin, San Antoni, Dallas/Ft. Worth, and Houston. What really holds Houston back is the awful facilities and the reputation of the undergrad institution.

+1. I don't know about FL, but GW/Fordham/BC are underranked as is.

GW should swap with Emory, and Fordham should take BC's spot with BC bumping UMinnesota out of #20. Basically, #20 should be GW/BU/BC instead of the way it is now.

why Houston shoud be high?

Well of the top of my head here goes:

- national expertise in Energy law;
- top 3 research in Health law;
- top 10 in IP law;
- located in the 4th largest legal market;

Is this enough?

If you're set on Intellectual Property then Franklin Pierce Law center will probably serve you better than all but the T14.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
