Stats: want to do a clerkship after law school and practice in IP/media law primarily, with a final interest in being counsel for a news/media organization. Hopefully end up either in NYC, LA or San Fran. Accepted at UMich and BU, neither with aid (yet), though I think I stand a good chance at getting aid at BU.
How much of a scholarship would make going to BU worth it, and how far would a BU degree travel in the fields I'm interested in?

Unless you get close to a full ride to BU, I'd consider UM.

Regardless of money, I would take Michigan. These two schools are not really comparable in terms of reputation and job prospects. While Michigan is in the midwest, it is a national school with excelent name recognition and a great reputation.
