I would probably say Mich or Duke, coming down to personal preference between the two.

im very interested in going into academia. i'm from central ohio, so Mich is closest, however I'm a big fan of weather in the south. very conflicting interests!

Michigan or Duke if you're set on BigLaw in a primary market. Could see ND or Vandy if you're more regional or debt averse. UVA is out unless you're locked in to DC.

Michigan does will with academia (at least compared to other non-T5 schools). It's hard getting into that field from any school, but Michigan certainly has some success in that realm.

To me, it's Mich $ vs. UVA vs. Duke $...of which I would probably pick Mich $. Are you going to visit?

+ 1. Michigan placed 3rd in 2009, after Yale and Harvard, for placement into entry level academia.
