Advice on IU? Is it T25?
I was recently accepted into IU-Bloomington with a $. It is currently ranked in the T25 but I am seeing a lot of skepticisim about the school on this forum. I have also been accepted to LMU, SMU, Georgia, and Colorado, and I am waiting to hear back from UNC, U of Washington, USC (certainly out), Texas (certainly out), Emory (likely out), BU (same), Madison. I am also on the WL at Illinois. I have $$ for the other schools I have been accepted to as well.
Basically, I am asking about what everyone thinks about the quality of IU.

I'm sure if you want to live in the region, it places very well.

It is stated that they place students into 20 of the top 25 firms in the U.S.burtonrideclub wrote:I'm sure if you want to live in the region, it places very well.

It's a phenomenal school, but, if you are planning to go there because it is in the T25, then I am willing to wager on the fact that it won't be on that list by the time you graduate. Again, great school IMO regardless of the T25 status.

I see that they jumped from 36 to 23 this year. I don't really want to practice law in that state. I would like to practice law in Chicago however.daddymike wrote:It's a phenomenal school, but, if you are planning to go there because it is in the T25, then I am willing to wager on the fact that it won't be on that list by the time you graduate. I am still waiting to hear back from UNC, Emory, BU, UC Davis, Madison, and U Washington. Of all of those I just really wan't to get into Davis and UNC. The others (other than Madison) will likely reject me.

Let's not go overboard here.

IUB graduates are going to have a tough time in the Chicago market, I think.eschilli wrote:I would like to practice law in Chicago however.
Also, most people agree that IUB's ranking is inflated - they are not really a T25 school, and certainly not ahead of schools like George Washington or Fordham.

I didn't like the location. I did not apply to OSU or Hastings for the same reason.daddymike wrote:And WHY did you not apply to Iowa?eschilli wrote:I would like to practice law in Chicago however.

I dunno about the other two schools, but I can tell you that Iowa has a very strong presence in Chicago. Lots of Alumni there.
