GW Scholarship negotiation
Has anyone negotiated money from GW if they weren't offered any upon acceptance?

I was told, by the school, that they do not negotiate aid at all.

I don't think that GW is nearly done giving out aid though. They're probably just waiting for some of the big scholarship recipients to withdraw (as I did two weeks ago). FWIW, a friend of mine was accepted in January of last year, and he received the $105k scholarship in March.

Re: GW Scholarship negotiation
Also wondering...I was told there would be no negotiating, so I put down the seat deposit anyway since I know I'm going. I wonder if any of the money goes to already committed people or just to lure in those who haven't deposited yet?
Also, I like the theory that as some of the 105K people withdraw, more money goes around. However, I'm tempted to think that they actually over-extend the scholarship funds knowing that many of the 105K people will withdraw. In that case, there actually isn't more money to go around.
Thoughts?

I think they both overextend and have no reason to offer to students who have already committed. I mean... not much reason for them to. better to keep the cash for the school you know?umichgrad wrote:Also wondering...I was told there would be no negotiating, so I put down the seat deposit anyway since I know I'm going.
