GULC or BC ($) for Boston

Post by Katerina » Thu Jan 21, 2010 4:00 pm

First, I haven't gotten money from BC (hopefully I will) but it would be thousands cheaper for me to attend (about a $12G overall difference in tuition alone, more because I wouldn't have to pay for housing). I want to end up in Boston so BC would be fine for me but I'm having a hard time letting go of the "prestige factor" that a T14 has. Thoughts?

If BC offers you good money (and if you got into GULC, they probably will), you can cut out all housing expenses, and you want to end up in Boston, then I'd say most definitely go to BC. Its not like your comparing G-Town and some third tier local school. BC is very well respected place.

Depends on how much. I think GULC is work about $60k over BC- though it does depend a bit on how wed you are to Boston.

If your numbers are good enough for GULC you should get money from BC.

Go to BC, network like crazy while you're there, and enjoy.

+1. Don't see much reason for GULC if you get $$ from BC
