What school would you choose?
I want to practice in DC. Public Interest (juvenile justice, LGBT, family law). I could probably get $10-25K from Richmond.

I'm not in-state (currently live in DC). Thanks for your help!

UC - Hastings(#39)? Really? It's in San Fran where the COL is ridiculous and the tuition is mid $40s. Does it really make sense for me to go into that much more debt when I want to practice in DC? Also, GMU (#40) is known for its conservative bent and focus on law & economics. Not convinced that GMU will have enough PI-type course offerings and clinics to give me practical experience and connections to land a PI job.

Not Mason if what you want is Public Interest. Seriously, NOT Mason. It's a great school but the PI conenctions/network jsut are not there. WCL, on the other hand, may not have the same biglaw prospects (or it may, I just don't know empirically) but its PI connections literally abound. You'd do much better if what you want is PI and DC to take WCL.

Hey - thanks a lot. That's where I'm leaning as well. Hm. Maybe I just wanted confirmation. Now... if only I could get off the waitlist at GULC... then I could stop polling all together.

Without money, I'd go with American, but seeing as how Richmond filters a lot of grads into the DC market and they are giving you cash, Richmond would be the way to go.

Yea, I'm unsure of how Richmond places in DC. If they don't place that well, then I'd go for AU-WCL ... but if they do, then I'd consider Richmond as well.PoliticalJunkie wrote:Without money, I'd go with American, but seeing as how Richmond filters a lot of grads into the DC market and they are giving you cash, Richmond would be the way to go.
