im pretty sure they made the change in the past that if grads dont report then thats unemployedJamesChapman23 wrote:What is US News' methodology behind the "Graduates known to be employed at graduation" stat? If grads don't report data, are the assumed unemployed? Or does this stat simply disregard them?
Because many of these schools are probably working with only 50 percent feedback.

Very much so. I'm going to attempt to get a job massaging statistics for my law school next year. We need to protect the dean and professors's 350k positions.hapas wrote:jealous much?JamesChapman23 wrote:How did a cess pool like Arizona St. end up at 26? I commend the work done at ASU to buy library books and/or make-up employment stats. I still have alot to learn.

Re: 2013 Rankings
I actually think that schools tend to have pretty good percentage reporting just employment %. How accurate that % is, thats another story. However they definitely lack data regarding the reporting of salary or the types of jobs.splittinghairs wrote:im pretty sure they made the change in the past that if grads dont report then thats unemployedJamesChapman23 wrote:What is US News' methodology behind the "Graduates known to be employed at graduation" stat? Nobody is jealous..It's just quite obvious that ASU does not deserve to be 26-ranked school.hapas wrote:jealous much?JamesChapman23 wrote:How did a cess pool like Arizona St. end up at 26? Dont worry every year theres one of these random schools that deserve a prize for gaming the system. In the past it was Davis, but sooner or later theyll come back down to the pack.GBURGLAW wrote:Nobody is jealous..It's just quite obvious that ASU does not deserve to be 26-ranked school.hapas wrote:jealous much?JamesChapman23 wrote:How did a cess pool like Arizona St. end up at 26? They are the 4th seed matched up with the South Dakota Jackrabbits this week. Vegas gives the odds as Baylor -8.wightjm wrote:Anyone mind posting Baylors stats?

Anyone have thoughts about Stanford passing Harvard? Another short-lived changed? Could lead to movements at Harvard to come back up? Kagan leaving?

If they are, I have basically no respect for their reasoning skills.bok92 wrote:Anyone have thoughts about Stanford passing Harvard? Another short-lived changed? Could lead to movements at Harvard to come back up? Kagan leaving?
Idiotic.
(no, I'm not Harvard affiliated, although I wish I was)

Harvard's eliteness is forever, which is why they can afford to take cheap shots at it from time to time to sell their magazine.bok92 wrote:Anyone have thoughts about Stanford passing Harvard? Another short-lived changed? Could lead to movements at Harvard to come back up? Kagan leaving?
It doesn't matter where they place Harvard. It's Harvard.

Nah this is the beginning of Harvard's slide. It will join CCN and only stanford/yale will be truly "elite."

Re: The official rankings release thread
This is the most prudent piece of advice I've yet to hear on this entire forum. My decision would move from leaning against attending in the fall to sending my deposit in the next day.banjo wrote:Cornell should relocate its law school to Manhattan, right next to its medical center on the upper east side. Does anyone know the actual points separating H and S?
You guys are funny. I think in real life "rankings" H will always be #1.

Good first step but YS/HCCN is probably most appropriate.Ded Precedent wrote:I've already started to refer to it as YS.............H.minnbills wrote:Nah this is the beginning of Harvard's slide. It will join CCN and only stanford/yale will be truly "elite."
